What the Greeks Lack: Nietzsche believes there is no real German culture and their mediocrity is manifested in their overindulgence of alcohol and Christianity. All the energy being put towards politic leaves none for cultured activities such as art, literature and philosophy. He believed that education should only be for the exceptional and spiritually privilege or else universal education would lead to overcrowding, underfunding and the waste of academic resources on the lowest denominator, producing meritocracy.
