The streak of silver weaves between the clouds as they spins a tale older than time itself. The sky darkens to a gunmetal gray as the gods rage in the heavens above. The silver-eyed goddess Artemis holds the orb in her hands, before turning to face Athena. “This is far more powerful than we envisioned,” the goddess of wisdom admits. The night goddess hovers above, braiding the stars in her hair, watching, but not speaking. “I fear we may have tampered with something beyond our expertise,” the babylonian goddess Tiamat confesses. “We have made a grave mistake.” Artemis fidgets with the orb in her hands, and open her mouth to speak when Nyx finally does. “I warned you all of the consequences that come with coalescing our abilities,” she whispers like the night breeze. “All of us agreed that merging our abilities was the answer; hence why there is no one to blame. It is ready to be released.” Athena takes the glowing orb from her sister, analyzing it in her brilliant mind. “It does appear to be physically ready,” she admits reluctantly. Nyx casts a shadow over the orb and it flies to her outstretched palm. The pale silver darkens to something of a shining storm and Nyx clicks her tongue. “Artemis is correct,” she agrees. “Let us not wait and taint its power. Tiamat, if you will?” The Babylonian goddess of chaos reaches out with her fragmented astral projection and with a single touch, shatters the orb. The splinters of silver light shine brightly as they fly away, and on to the next world. “We can draw it back when we need it must,” Nyx explains. Tiamat nods, and her projection dissolves. Nyx falls back into the stars, connecting the blinking dots to form the starry constellations the mortals knew so well. Artemis vanishes into the woods, and Athena sets off for Athens to facilitate the state of
