In the movie “A League of Their Own”, one can see how the more sexist views of the culture in the 1940s and 50s in America was present in the Girls Professional Baseball League. “A League of Their Own” is a movie about what was once the “All-American Girls Professional Baseball League” which was formed when the young men were sent over to serve in World War II. One of the most obvious cultural views that this movie shows is the feminizing of the baseball players to make them “more acceptable and women like”. Unlike men’s uniforms, that include a full shirt and pants, they were to wear skirts that were very short, too short to play baseball in comfortably. This alone shows how this league was just as much about show as it was about the women’s talent.

Ban “bossy” is a campaign to make it so women and girls are no longer called bossy for reasons other than trying to speak their mind without softening the words. Women and girls are often called “bossy” because they tell others what to do. The problem with that is girls and boys often speak different “languages”, which enables a girl to seem bossy. Boys often speak in a way as girls do but get different responses from it.
Symbols, the meaningful representations that we constantly come across throughout our lifetimes, live within the minds of each human in our society. Not only is it associated with great meanings, it provokes many emotions that we feel such as aggressiveness or delightment. Symbols are extremely expressive and can change how our behavior may come about. For example, heart signs, logos, money and even religious flags have enough power to instantly change a person’s behavior when particular symbols are being encountered. There is definitely a problem when we talk about gender equality and sexism. It's everywhere: in movies, commercials on television, in music videos, at the workplace and even at school. The gender biases are blatant. One of the sources of the problem lies in the media and the way the media portrays women. For example, the function of an assistant can be fulfilled by both a man and a woman, but when we look at movies and commercials, we often think that it is weird when the assistant of a powerful man is not a woman but a man.

With a little innovation, the internet made social interactions between people easier than ever, although, the convenience may come at a cost. Some theories suggest that heavy reliance on social media for human interaction will weaken communication skills, hinder meaningful social interactions, and negatively impact personal relationships.
