On July 13, 2008 the parents of Casey Anthony George and Cindy received a notice stating that their daughter's car was in a tow yard. When the went to go pick up the van they noticed casey's purse, and their granddaughter Caylee's toys and carseat still in the vicheal. George also noticed a strong smell coming from the trunk, which caused them to get concerned. They finally found Casey at her boyfriend's house and questioned the whereabouts of her daughter. Casey broke down and said that she left Caylee with her nanny Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez in Orlando and that Gonzalez had zidnapped her on June 16th. Casey was later released on $500,000 bail which was put up by Television star Leonard Padilla. The reasoning behind Padilla posting the bail was for Casey to help the investigation for finding Caylee, she failed and sent back to prison with charges of identity theft. On December 11, months after her disappearance the remains of Caylee was found in a wooden area near Casey's home. Casey was later charged with the murder of Caylee Anthony. The prosecutions was seeking the death penalty for Casey when the trial began. When the trial started the prosecution used the approach of Casey being a promiscuous party girl that didn't want to be a mother anymore. That pushed the fact that she was unconcerned about the fact that her daughter was missing and that she planned to murder Caylee. The defense on the other had used elaborate stories that defamed Caseys father by saying Caylee drowned in the family pool and George Anthony help cover up the accident. They also stated the George had molested Casey since she was eight, and her brother would do sexual advances towards her as well, convincing the jury that Caylee may have been a product of
