In the story of Exodus, God had a plan for Moses and Aaron. He told Moses that he was to go to the elders and explain to them that God has chosen him to speak through. God gave Moses powers, such as his staff turning into a snake, to prove to the elders and the pharaoh that he was really sent by God. He then told Moses he is supposed to go to the pharaoh and ask him to let the Israelites go for a sacrifice they must make to their God, three days away. God told him that the pharaoh would deny this request so God will use force when necessary; the force being the plagues. The final part of God’s plan is that on their way out of Egypt, they would collect all the silver and gold from the Egyptians. When God told Moses His plan, Moses was concerned because he couldn’t speak well. Moses tried to tell God that he couldn’t do what God was asking for. However, God said that has chosen Aaron to speak on behalf of Moses and to go with him to the pharaoh.
When the plan was put into action and the pharaoh would not let the Israelites go, God had no choice but to release the ten plagues. The first plague was the river turning to blood, followed by the second which was frogs. After, it was the gnats, flies, the death of cattle, pestilence, hail and fire, locusts, darkness, and then the death of the first born son.

The Ten Commandments stated: to have no gods before the one true God, to not worship idols, to not take the Lord’s name in vain, to honor the Sabbath, to honor your father and mother, to not kill, to not commit adultery, to not steal, to not bear false witness against your neighbor, and to not covet your neighbor’s wife or goods. When Moses came down from the mountain, he saw the Israelites worshiping a golden calf and became so angry that he broke the tablets the Commandments were on. God gave him new tablets later
