From the Genre Experiment 1 (blog post) assignment, I learned how to create a blog post. The Genre Experiment 1 also enabled me to obtain useful skills about conducting research. Through the Genre experiment 2 (movie review) assignment, I learned how to author a film review write-up. The knowledge I obtained through these writing exercises constitutes the information that I want to remember from the English 1010 course. In this essay, I will outline the specific knowledge that I obtained by tackling the five English 1010 assignments of Literacy Narrative, Rhetorical Analysis, Non-Academic Discourse, Genre Experiment 1 and Genre Experiment 2.

The two stories illustrate that African-Americans are not given an equal chance in terms of gaining opportunities for a successful life. However, it may be possible that one key factor among all can develop a whole problematic image on success and why White Americans think of the African-American society as to not having the capability for a chance towards success. At the time, the economy could have been at a huge disadvantage for the African-Americans because majority of them did not have the chance to rise up from it in terms of creating revenue for themselves. The current grade 11 University English course at St.Elizabeth Catholic High School study four books in the process of the whole semester. However, since I was successful in this lab course, it would not be until Winter Quarter when I fully recognized this flaw in Writing 39B. Enduring my chaotic and unproductive process of writing the Rhetorical Analysis Essay and Rhetoric in Practice Final Project has greatly influenced and improved the way I conduct my writing process in general. The specifics of my writing process and how it has evolved will be expanded upon in the following chapter. In the end, learning the importance of having an efficient drafting process and starting my assignments in a timely manner has improved my performance in my other classes; especially lab. I now start my lab reports earlier, focusing on making them more organized, detailed, and well-written.
Lejla Hodzic Mrs.Monroe English III(H): Period 3 Journal Reflection-MP1 When first writing in my journal I struggled with how deep to go with my discussion questions and what I should be asking my classmates. I feel that I have struggled with this because I lack confidence on what I am trying to prove or say in my writing. When reading in the past I have never pushed myself to question the author’s purpose or ask questions that invoke much thought. Up to this point in the year writing in my journal as well as annotating in the text, has helped my reading and writing immensely.
English 102 Reflection During the course of English 102, I took this year of the spring semester. I have accomplished a variety of goals I once thought were impossible. I have not only grown as a writer and a student but as an individual as well. As John Dewey states “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.” What Dewey insists is from my early days in high school to my first year in college as a freshman, I wanted to know the full concept of English; however, I have now realized this subject would fill in my void of English with noteworthy complexities. This was not the case for most of my second semester in Montgomery College; I always had trouble in various parts of the subject, such as development in thesis statement, sentence writing and reflecting on previous essays. Writing a thesis statement had been one of my down falls in English.
