Explain Why A Democracy Is Better Than A Utopian Society

Would you rather have freedoms or no freedoms? One reason a democracy is better than a utopia because living in a democracy with freedoms is better because you are able to choose what YOU want to do. Another reason you are able to choose what job you think is best for yourself instead of being forced into something that may not fit you and finally, you 're able to wear what you want and be different from other people and not look the same as everyone else. For these reasons, a democratic society is better than a utopian society because in a democratic society people have freedom of choice. To start, you are able to choose what YOU want to do, instead of being told around like some robot. You are able to choose whatever you want. What type of food you want to eat, what clothes you 're going to wear today, where you 're going to go today, etc. These being things that you cannot do in a utopian society. This freedom allows you to have much more fun than you would have to live in a utopian society, and what 's the world without freedom? Also, being able to choose the job that you want is best because it allows you to do what you want to do, what makes you happy. Which means there is no uniqueness and nothing is new. A utopian society also prides itself on being near ¨perfect¨ when they have many dark secrets. For example, in Lois Lowry 's, The Giver, they claim that people are ¨released¨ when actually they are killed no matter if it´s a baby, adult or the elderly. Not to mention, if a pregnant woman has twins the one with the lesser weight is ¨released¨, this is also kept secret from most people in the
