Owning guns or banning them is a highly controversial topic in the United States today. Everytime, there is a mass shooting or violence commited the issue resurfaces. The real question is should the government make strict gun control laws and legislations? Would it help to decrease the crime rate or will it be the opposite effect? The nation is divided on this issue, some believe there should be bans on guns some think there shouldn't be any.
In 2007, there was a shooting at Virginia Tech University, leading to thirty-three people were killed and fifteen were wounded. Many of the victims were students and shot in dorm and a classroom building. The murderer was senior-level undergraduate student. He was diagnosed with a severe anxiety disorders known as selective autism and major depressive disorders. Most people do not know what guns can cause the world.
Taking A Good Look At Handguns Are handguns necessary for the average citizen or should handguns be banned? Majority of people do not know the heinous crimes that take place in Canada daily, especially whilst using a gun. Canada does not come close to the United States when comparing mass shootings, death by a gun, or homicides using a gun; although, the gun crimes in Canada are not improving. While Canada has more stringent gun laws than the united states, gun control in Canada should still be improved for citizen’s safety. Canada is often praised for having more efficient gun laws than the United States, but most people do not know that Canadian laws too, have much room for improvement.
In conclusion we should have better gun control. There are roughly 32,000 gun deaths per year in the United States. That’s a big number of deaths. There should be a law were every gun how has ever been checked out or bought to have a number and if stole they have to report about just in case someone is trying to use it for the something bad. For the better and the sake of our planet we should have better gun control considering it will save a lot of lives.
In 2013 an armed man went into a school and shot twenty-six little kids at Sandy-Oak Elementary. Not all of them died but many injured. Another time… A twelve year old boy, living in Mexico went to school one day. The boy pulled a shotgun out of his music instrument case and shot two students injuring them.
Concealed Weapons Carry What if people had the right to carry concealed guns everywhere, the many hours of training received and money spent on the right to be able to carry a concealed gun? Think about all the mass shootings that have occurred on in the world today and if people had the right to carry their concealed gun everywhere. The law prohibits people from carry concealed guns everywhere and it is not right, especially if people are licensed and trained to carry. People can go on and on about the reasons why concealed guns should not be carried everywhere and actually have some valid points.
In today’s society, one of the most alienating issues in American politics is gun control. More specifically, the issue is whether or not guns should be banned in the United States. Some people would say that guns should be banned because it would reduce crime as a whole and keep citizens safer. These people, enthusiasts of stricter gun laws, fear being safe in their country where there are so many people who have access to guns. Opponents of this argument, however, also fear losing safety.
Guns should be banned in America, with 30,000 deaths yearly in America, we need to do something about it. Many counties have made strict gun control laws or just have banned guns and that seems to be helping them. We have the most gun deaths out of all wealthy countries, which is unacceptable and we need to change it as fast as possible to prevent further deaths. Many people say that guns shouldn't be banned because of how the Second Amendment says, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” The Second Amendment was written in 1791, around 225 years ago!

Concealed guns are allowing the public to overcome the dangers in the world, but they are also a danger in many ways. These dangers have lead to many horrific accidents in our present time. These incidents are also causing more people around the world to join in on these events. Concealed guns should be banned because by permitting handguns, it can end up causing more crimes, dangerous people are more likely to carry a gun and endanger the public, and guns can make the public paranoid.
Guns are just a tool, like knives and hammers and it completely depends on the people on how they use it. People who support guns and arms say that the Second Amendment secures individual’s right to carry guns with them and that gun rights is needed for self-protection, and was intended for military to have peace and defend the country if needed (Spitzer, 70). Most of the Americans use guns as a source to protect themselves and they believe that gun ownership prevents crime. A study conducted on November 26, 2013 showed that bans on weapons did not significantly affect murder rates at the state level (Lane, 5). Moreover, even if the rules and regulations are executed on gun control, not all criminals obey the law.
The number of incidents of gun violence last year in the United States was about 60,000. In recent years, the number of mass shooting has risen to about one mass shooting per day in the United States. The country is divided with some wanting to reevaluate our gun control laws and either ban or add additional regulations to the purchase of guns. Others say it is our right for Americans to own guns and something the founding fathers considered important to put in the Bill of Rights. The number of firearm sales has risen with the number of mass shooting many Americans question if banning guns or certain guns could help decrease the number of gun violence deaths.
In conclusion, I believe civilians should be allowed to carry weapons. They should have an extensive background check and take annual training courses. One reason is to defend yourself against tyranny. Another to avoid any encounters with criminals on the streets. Finally to be prepared to defend yourself or family from a home evasion.
