Someday we are all going to grow up and decided what job we want. I never actually thought about what job I wanted until this year, I was thinking about what classes I wanted to take in high school that would lead me to the job or career I wanted to be. Then it hit me. I want to be an orthodontist! Even though some people claim, that there is a painful process every time they go to the orthodontist. However, it can do a lot of good things as well such as, straighten you teeth, help the discomfort that would be for a lifetime, and diagnose a dental health problem. After all, there are more positives than negatives and pain is temporarily. I want to be an orthodontist because orthodontist get to help people with their problems, the education and salary is good to make a living off of, and it is a job that offers plenty of Job …show more content…

This is the social or a “helper” personality trait that is suited for an orthodontist. I think that the social personality trait is best for this career because you are a helper, helping your patients. Examples of helping people with their problems are fitting dental appliances such as braces, retainer, or invisalign to alter the position of the patient's teeth or jaw. A transferable skill that goes along with the social personality trait is problem solving. If you are planning to be an orthodontist you have to be able to problem solve. Orthodontist need to problem solve because because they need to be able to do what they patient wants or needs to make the patient happy. The second transferable skill that orthodontist should have is Communication skills. Orthodontist need communication skills because you need to talk and tell your patients what they should do and how you are going to do it and answer other questions to make the patient happy.
