If I could create or eliminate a law, it would be the right to bear arms. Now, I wouldn't necessarily eliminate it, but change it. I understand why everyone should have the right to bear arms, but I feel they should have some exceptions in a way. For one I would say that when you get a weapon you should have to have a safe or somewhere you can lock it up. Secondly, the people who can get the guns should have to pass a few tests to get it, just to check their mental health to make sure it’s safe for them to have a weapon. And lastly the guns should not be returned to people who have used them for violence mentally ill or not.
The reason that people who get weapons should have to have a safe and some type of paper that shows that they do, is because it is very easy for someone else to get it. If you have kids and have weapons laying around it is easy for it to get used by accident or not. For example, in the recent school shooting the teenager was able to easily access this weapon and that resulted in a lot of deaths. Another example of why they should be locked up is domestic violence. If it is just out or somewhere that is easy to access it is even easier for someone to get seriously hurt or killed. Domestic violence is a problem and for most people being able to have weapons is a problem that needs to be solved.

A lot of people who do crazy things like kill tons of people, have mental illness. Now, everyone gets mad or sad about this, but the real question is why are they allowed to even be able to get a gun in the first place? Because they’re not a felon? They haven't gotten in any legal trouble? No. It is not okay for people who have mental illnesses to have a gun at all. They're should be testing to see if they have a mental illness or not.
