Theodore Roosevelt was deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize because he helped settle the dispute between Russia and Japan. He also made a deal with Japan concerning Korea. One was a leader while the other was neither a leader nor a follower. One was admired by many people while the other had a mystic aura around him. Martin Luther King Junior was a natural-born leader. He was an activist and spoke many speeches that captivated his followers. He had the inspirational bubble in him that gave hope throughout the country.
Martin Luther King, Jr. believed in only using non-violence in his activism. He used methods like peaceful resistance and non-violent protests. King was already known for organizing and carying out civil rights protests peacefully in the south. I think Kennedy also changed his mind because he saw the success King had already made while working with the SCLC and he knew that it might hurt him politically if he got in the middle of the civil rights movement. Martin Luther King Jr's type of activism would have been a much better choice to allow in Washington than the type Malcolm X used.
When you read both candidates' arguments you can see both are very strong. But You would think one would have a better approach right? When I first read both candidates' arguments I noticed how they’re both similar but each of them added their own beliefs in their approaches. I believe that Chisholm's Speech had a better argument than Obama’s.
