If education is really fundamental, then what happens when it is not affordable? It is something we, young adults spend half of our lives preparing for, but that doesn’t make the pain any easier when we finally come face to face with the financial theories of a college education. Over the decade, jobs have started to require further education beyond high school, yet not everyone is able to afford a more advanced education,due to all the expensive costs.
The tuition prices feel as if you have a huge boulder resting on your shoulders and it keeps gaining weight as time goes by, because depending on the number of years of education your tuition will increase even more. There are many ways to keep college less expensive, such as decreasing tuition, keeping student loan rates low and student loan forgiveness. Why would we want the new workforce generation to be bankrupt? Student loan rates should stay low, recently it has been revealed that students save an average of $1,000 on their loans. This rate should remain so when the the students graduate they won't have to pay so much money.
Textbooks also are one of the most expensive items to buy in college, and universities should consider a way of making them more affordable for the average student.

In my opinion textbooks should be free, the textbooks range from $200 to $400. Yearly an average student spends $2,000 on textbooks. To help our students, our schools should welcome the “open textbook” culture, which would be supported by the law and government grants, which would cut the out-of-pocket costs of education significantly, giving every American student book
