Macbeth and lady Macbeth were influenced by many outside factors in the play that made them act the way they did and do what they did. Shakespeare uses Excitement, Suspense, and Climax to show the changes that happen because of these internal and external factors. Ultimately leading to the murder of innocent people and the quick rise but even quicker downfall of Macbeth. Shakespeare uses many literary devices and examples to show changes that occur. One way that he shows this is by using excitement. When Lady macbeth finds out that Macbeth is destined to become king, she becomes ambitious for power and makes Macbeth think that the only way that he will become king is to kill Duncan.
