Hello, Ms. Jimenez and my fellow students! My name is Isaac Garcia, and today I will be presenting my perspectives on Extreme Exploration. Extreme Exploration, such as in space or at the bottom of the ocean, is worth the risks to some people because of the technological advancements it provides. However, others argue that it is not worth the risk because they think space exploration has no purpose outside of just exploring. I say yes, it is worth it. We should be exploring space and the ocean because of the discoveries it provides. First, extreme exploration in space is worth the risks it brings because it provides many discoveries. This can be seen in JFK’s Remarks at the Dedication Center where Kennedy says “An instrument recently developed to record automatically the impact of acceleration upon an astronaut’s eyes will also be of help to small children who are suffering miserably from eye defects, but are unable to describe their impairment” (JFK 187). This shows that space exploration helps develop tools and instruments to heal eye defects. It is clear that the evidence provides a specific example of a scientific advance. This also shows that this medical …show more content…
This can be seen in the essay titled, “Is Space Exploration Worth the Cost?” where the author says, “It is highly probable that, in this century, humans will settle on other planets. Our ability to explore and sustain human presence there will not only expand Earth’s access to mineral resources but, should the need arise, provide alternative habitats for humanity’s survival” (Vernikos 64). This shows that space exploration is necessary because humans may require resources from other planets. These resources can be used for survival. It is clear that there is much to gain from space exploration. In order for humanity to survive, we may require the knowledge and resources of other
