The Boston College Point shaving scandal was put together by Tony and Rocco Perla during the summer of 1978, before the college basketball season would start. At the time they put this together, they were small time gamblers. Rick Kuhn, a friend of Rocco 's from when the two were in high school together, was recruited to take part in the plan. He was an essential player in his senior year at Boston College, both to the team and to the Perla brothers. Kuhn 's job, through his play on the court, was to make sure that the Eagles did not cover the spread.
Resolution- The resolution in the story is that The Bulldogs made it to the championship game. They had to play with 10 players, but they were able to play, because there was no rule saying they couldn’t. The night before the big game there was a party right in the center of the town, because Will wrote a letter to be put into the paper about the journey of making this team. He encouraged everyone to come to the game, and even the New Balance guy showed up with all his support.

During his last visit, Salmon said those words which made the “legend of bear down”: “Tell them…tell the team to bear down." Coach Pop McKale passed his words after he passed away on October 18, 1926. Although it was clear what Salmon meant specifically about this “bear down” phase, but after the coach passed down his will to the team, they beat down the Aggies of New Mexico State in the football game. It was clear this phase had a great magic to gather the sprite of every single wildcats in the University of
The Boys of Dunbar written by Alejandro Danois is a compelling narrative about an inner-city Baltimore high school basketball team who became a national powerhouse from 1981-1983. This is “A story of love, hope, and basketball”. Throughout this essay, The Boys of Dunbar will be explained, reviewed and critiqued. The two Dunbar teams from 1981-1983 are regarded as some of the best high school basketball teams that were ever assembled and many of the players on these teams are thought of as some of the most talented basketball players to ever come from Baltimore.

Coach Carter states that nobody is expecting the players to go to college and that he thinks that it’s a problem that they only focus on basketball. He remains calm at the beginning of the meeting in the library and says that it is about all of them. He encourages the heart by telling them that he sees a system that is designed for them to fail, that only 50% graduate and that only 6% of the graduates make it to college. Furthermore, he states that maybe only 1 student is going to college in the room and that especially for young African American men they will go to prison in that area: 33% of the 18-24 year olds get arrested. Coach Carter encourages the heart on a very personal level by brining in shocking facts about the past and involving their friends and families.

The player chose to risk it, and that risk gave a bad ending. But to some people, college is too much of a risk. For example, if someone gets into a college team, but then they get a injury that does some permanent damage, then the player’s future may be ruined, or if the player does get into the NBA/NFL, they are probably going to earn less than if they had never gotten injured. Also, to some people, college is a waste of time. If the person actually got into the NBA/NFL they could’ve earned a lot
