The first factor is the overall diversity of Azusa Street. This was essential in breaking down social and cultural barriers and creating a sense of unity among believers. People from different races, nationalities, and social backgrounds came together to worship and experience the Holy Spirit, which seemed unusual for that time. A second factor was the powerful spiritual experiences that took place during the revival. People reported experiencing supernatural phenomena such as speaking in tongues, prophesying, and divine healing, which they believed were evidence of the Holy Spirit's presence and power. These experiments were seen as almost life-changing it seems.
