Fahrenheit 451 Be Banned Essay

Do you believe we should burn the words of many amazing writers? Well, in the book “Fahrenheit 451” they believe they should. In the book, They believe books are bad and that we shouldn't have them due to all the information they tell us. When someone is found with books in their home their home is burned down and they are sent away. We believe firemen are the ones that put fires out but in “Fahrenheit 451” they are the people that burn the books, and start the fires. In the book the main character Montag wants to know why books have been banned and will do anything too find out. He teams up with a man named Faber, Faber agrees with Montag’s beliefs and they make a plan. This books tells us what it would be like if books were banned completely

The parlor room is the room in the house where they have full wall television, they can even interact with the show/movie they are watching. The people in the book surround their lives with the wall tvs; the more you have makes you look like you rich. In the book Montag's wife says, “It’s really fun. It’ll be even more fun when we can afford to have the fourth wall installed. How long you figure before we save up. And get the fourth wall torn out and fourth wall-TV put in? It’s only one- third of my yearly-pay”( Bradbury 18). This is just an example of many people in this book. They would rather have a wall-TV instead of a wall with some pictures or something on it. These people are brainwashed to think that this is the most important thing and if they don't have it they aren't rich. If books were too be banned this could be our world and we are close to it with all the devices we have that just keep growing. In an article by David Toscana, he tells the readers about a town that stopped reading, he says “ Despite recent gains in industrial development and increasing numbers of engineering graduates, Mexico is floundering socially, politically and economically because so many of its citizens do not read” (Toscana).
