In Fahrenheit 451 there are many similar comparisons to the real world and thats what its supposed to be it was written in the 1950s about the future of the united states. So there's bound to be some similar things something were spot on and others not so much but it is still good comparison to our world today. One of the thing that is similar from the book to the real world is people are to stuck looking at screens all day in Fahrenheit they treated their shows as if they were family. Today be stay in front of a tv watching netflix or hulu and youtube as if that is all they have they spend days wasting away in front of a tv screen then feel emotionally empty when they've finished their show like it was all they had. Another example of screens we are glued to today are our cell phones doing many of the same thing we use a television for but we can take it anywhere so we don't have to leave our screens at home. Perhaps our situation is even worse with the screens then in the people in Fahrenheit although in our world some people refrain from the norm just like the people who read in Fahrenheit. …show more content…

Our world is half way there not as many people read as they used to but they still do along with constantly staring at screens language arts is still taught in schools unlike in the book. In the story the government is keeps a lot of truths from its people to keep them happy the United States government probably does this as well but not as extreme as the one in fahrenheit. The government in the book is ruthless and will do anything to anyone to keep them away from the truth in the story if you are found with books you are either burned alive or sent to a mental hospital because they frame you for being crazy for knowing the truth of books and that they aren't
