Changing Montag In the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, the main character Montag, learns and develops throughout the story. Montag morals change from the beginning and the way he thinks and acts change. In this novel there is a couple of characters who try and stop Montag and theirs characters who help Montag to become the person he became at the end. Montag went from a depressed normal person, to a hero to believe in meaning.
This quote alludes to Montag's robbery of books from the old lady's home. Montag, feeling remorseful, depicts his activities as an automatic real reflex. He depicts his wrongdoing as programmed and claims it includes no idea on his part. He accuses his hands for a few different wrongdoings over the span of the book. Montag sees his hands as contaminated from taking the book and depicts how the ¨poison functions its way into whatever remains of the body.¨
In F-451 by Ray Bradbury, Clarisse, Faber, and Granger influenced Montag’s thoughts and actions. Guy Montag is a fireman near the Chicago area. Montag must abandon all previous views and principles he had about society to enable a change. Through the character of Montag, Bradbury suggests that individuals are courageous when they sacrifice themselves for the improvement of society, even when there is a risk of achieving nothing. Initially, Montag seems as static and obedient as all the others in this totalitarian society; however, through talking with Clarisse, Montag’s views change, causing him to question the rules around him.
