In today's society is technology a good or a bad thing? Technology may have some good qualities about it, but it is bad in today’s society. It can cause many problems in today's world. When Clarisse and Montag are walking down the street at night talking about what they think is wrong with their world, Clarisse explains, “...I don'tdont think it’s social to get a bunch of people together and then not let them talk…” (Bradbury 27 ). Clarisse is explaining that when she is at school the people do not talk to each other they spend all of their time with their technology. This causes people to begin to trust the things that they see through their technology. They become so dependent on the things they see and read through their technology that they don't know what to do when they don't have it. When the handymen came to Montag’s to save Mildred when she overdosed, they told Montag that “[she would] be fine” and that they got all the “mean stuff” out of her blood; they told him that when“ [they] take out the old” then “[she would] okay” and it would make her good as new. (Bradbury 13). Mildred would have died from the overdose if she didwould not have havehad technology there to save her. She relied on technology to a point where if it was not there for her then she would have died. This reliance on technology made her think that overdosing was okay because the technology would save
