On average the sunshine coast has approximately 7 hours of sunshine a day, the seasonal variations are very minimal. The temperatures are generally warm year round with summer temperatures averaging between 17 – 28 °C, and autumn temperatures falling between 13 - 25 °C. However the coastal location benefits from cooling sea breezes on warmer days. The during the winter season the temperature ranges between 7 - 22 °C. Spring is similarly mild with temperatures reaching between 13 - 25 °C.
Summer equals no school, friends, and tans. Increase of temperature obviously comes with summer but the increase of temperature is not always seen as a good thing when it starts to deteriorate the world. “Less fresh water will be available. If the Quelccaya ice cap in Peru continues to melt at its current rate, it will be gone by 2100, leaving thousands of people who rely on it for drinking water and electricity without a source either”(“Effects of Global Warming”). If society wants to continue to kill the earth so their future kin can live in a more damaged place than it was left with, go ahead.
Summer is a time for relaxation and a recollection of the previous school year. A sense of disappointment and discouragement always linger in the air throughout the summer in anticipation of the next school year. The origin being summer reading. Statistics for procrastination are at an all time high during the month of August. Contradictorily, the summer of ‘13 was the pinnacle of summer reading throughout my education.
Winter brings more accidents, but even though there are more accidents that makes people take more caution. They don't want to be in an accident due to the snow and ice so they take precautions. Summer temperatures can cause your car to overheat because of the high temperatures. Which means you could be caught being broken down more often. With the warm weather you can take more road trips and vacations.
The average American is able to see much more of America because of their automobile. Americans can go on road trips anywhere they want without boarding a train or bus. Carol Domblewski states that “Tourism became possible for more people, as a car allowed anyone to travel far away from home and in any direction a road led.” As long as there is a road citizens can travel to amusement parks, theatres, and circuses. There is never the limit of distance.
“What’s your favorite time of year?” “Summer!” This is a common question asked by an adult, and a typical reply from a child. Of course summer is their favorite time of the year because they have summer break! 10-12 weekes full of sun and fun!
For my critical analysis, I have chosen an excerpt from one of my creative documents and have chosen to analyse the use of language in the piece. The work is titled ‘To Wear a Dead Birds Wings’ and this piece of work is from the beginning of the novel in which the main character is held prisoner and has reached the point of insanity. In this creative piece, the use of language is intentionally poetic and symbolic, with intentions of having the reader question what is real and what is not. However the piece is largely expressive, it is not without its faults.
The kids are still going for 175 days, but the timing is different.” Kids that go to year round school have this kind of schedule, 30 days off for summer
It is sometimes refer to as the season of non-travel because the roads become risky for travel purposes. During the dry season much of the surface water dries and the animal have to find source of unceasing water. On the other hand, there are four seasons in America; autumn (fall), winter, Spring and Summer. During the spring it is sometimes warm and at some point chilly. In the summer it is always hot and sunny.
In All Summer in a Day, Ray Bradbury uses symbolism, similes and plenty of vivid description to show the hope the children have for a brighter future and their need for change. First of all the author uses the rain to symbolize many things, while at the same time dreaming is used to symbolize hope, and the sun is a symbol portraying each child’s bright future. Similes are also extremely important as they show the desperate hope and need for a bright future. Furthermore with these types of author's craft Ray Bradbury uses repetition. However it does not go along with hope as well as the other pieces of author’s craft that have been mentioned previously.
The winters are cold but they drive away harsh diseases and viruses. Josh: but the good news is that the summers are very warm.
The short story, “All Summer in a Day” by Ray Bradbury takes place in a dystopian society on the planet of Venus, where it is constantly raining except for an hour every seven years. The protagonist, Margot, had moved to Venus from Earth more recently than all her classmates, so she can remember seeing the sun, but no one else of her same age can. Due to this, the other children are jealous of her and they are act maliciously towards her. One universal message portrayed in this story is that jealousy can change people and cause them to hurt others and themselves. One way the author shows this theme in the story is through specific craft and structural choices.
The Weather in Chicago and Miami My cousin and I recently had a discussion about whether his hometown, Chicago, or my hometown, Miami, has better weather. Our discussion centered on three differences between the weather in our two hometowns. First, Chicago has all four seasons, but Miami does not. Chicago enjoys summer, fall, winter, and spring weather.
(Raisingsmallsouls) It is beneficial for students to have a good summer vacation because students need a break and time off of school and work. Health can always be dangerous and an issue, if students keep studying without a break it could hurt them physically or mentally. (Wilson). Students being hurt and distracted can cause their grades to drop and that would be bad for them.
or she learned in school that year (Mctighe). Kids need summers to learn not to take vacation because most students forget what they learned. In addition, Mctighe reports that the U.S. is falling drastically behind in school. In addition, she reports China’s education is ahead of the U.S by a lot. School year round is not that bad, kids get just as much or even more days off in the summer.
