Rounding a corner or walking into a restaurant, everyone that is seen has skeletons in their closets. Now, keep in mind that not everyone’s are as big as the person sitting next to them but what if, instead of covering up what society wants to keep hidden, it uncovers secrets to help bring awareness to what occurs in life? Although society will mask a blind eye, the truth will have to be exposed by them in order for society to start taking action. Being forgetful and being oblivious are two very different things. Being forgetful means forgetting what was being thought about but, being oblivious means not having any knowledge about a certain something. The saddest thing that I consider that happen is child abuse. There is a memoir that is written about a girl who had to live a misfortunate life all because of her mother. “Once Julie took a psych in college and learned about the condition of Munchausen by Proxy (MBP), in which parents to caregivers seek out medical care for those in their care as a way to serve their own needs even when this does harm, she was clear that it perfectly described her mother”(Perring). Child abuse takes on various forms; the most popular seem to be physical or psychological but our culture doesn't seem to be informed about this kind of abuse. Abuse is wrong in so many ways but it is not limited to caregivers wanting to take a healthy child and start killing it slowly. This is an example of what needs to be told, taught, and known. “She shows not only how her parents were manipulative and hurtful, but also how doctors often collaborated unknowingly with her mother’s abuse and how nobody would believe her when she tried to tell them that her mother was making up her health problem”(Perring). Summer equals no school, friends, and tans. Increase of temperature obviously comes with summer but the increase of temperature is not always seen as a good thing when it starts to deteriorate the world. “Less fresh water will be available. If the Quelccaya ice cap in Peru continues to melt at its current rate, it will be gone by 2100, leaving thousands of people who rely on it for drinking water and electricity without a source either”(“Effects of Global Warming”). If society wants to continue to kill the earth so their future kin can live in a more damaged place than it was left with, go ahead. Careless people. For those who would rather not have their future generations live in a damaged world, which I assume is the majority, we have to act now. Global warming is overlooked but the gradual effects are going to catch up to us. It isn't a matter of “if” but “when.” Society needs to stop denying that our home is going to DIE if we don’t anything to help save it. Hurricanes and other storms are likely to become stronger (“Effects of Global Warming”). If we lose people to hurricanes and storms already, why would we want to cause more deaths and more casualties? Just because side effects of global warming aren't hitting us as much as they will be hitting us soon, it doesn't mean they can be lost floating in the wind that the AC blows throughout the
