Increasing temperatures, increasing sea levels, melting glaciers, and extreme weather events like storms, droughts, and floods are all direct results of global warming. Experts foresee severe effects for the planet's future, including severe food shortages, climate refugees, and the extinction of numerous species, if global warming continues at its current rate. “This warming trend is alarming. Our warming climate is already making a mark: Forest fires are intensifying; hurricanes are getting stronger; droughts are wreaking havoc and sea levels are rising. NASA is deepening our commitment to do our part in addressing climate change.
Almost anyone who will read this essay has undoubtedly heard of the climate phenomenon Global warming. Global warming is a topic that gets discussed very often nowadays, most notably during political debate and discussion. Politicians use certain stances on global warming to appeal to voter’s emotions and logic in order to gain votes and support for their campaign, however climate change is nothing new, during the past several hundred thousand years the Earth has heated up and cooled down and even experienced so called “ice ages”, which is a period where glacial deposits located at the northern and southern hemispheres have grown due to dramatic global cool downs. Don’t be confused by climate terminology though, the global warming so widely
“I was born with the devil inside of me. I could not help the fact that I was a murderer (Holmes).” This is what Henry H. Holmes said after killing around two hundred innocent Americans. Holmes built a murder castle and killed his friend and his children, even a celebrity. Henry Holmes was a famous con artist and serial killer who would seduce and kill women and then collect their life insurance from them.
Climate change is a huge issue around the world. It is melting the polar ice caps, which is rising the sea level wiping out cities along the coastline. Also because of the ice caps melting many animals that live on it are going extinct. The animals that don’t live on the ice caps are also going extinct because they can’t adapt at the alarming rate that the climate is changing. Some animals are starting their migration earlier and other animals are going to higher elevations (higher than they should) to get cooler weather.
Global warming has severe impact to the world, it melts the polar ice caps, raises the sea level. “ As global temperature rise by up to 9 degrees fahrenheit, this shelf could conceivably break apart, allowing enormous chunks of ice to flow into the ocean…. These chunks of ice could displace enough water to raise global sea levels by more than fifteen feet”(Bilger 61). Increasing the sea level by fifteen feet would cause the flooding of Boston, submerging Miami, and also Bangladesh will go under water. Melting polar ice caps will cause is the death of wildlife in the Antarctic, polar bears will not be able to survive on ice but instead will drown into ocean.
Global Warming is a weather phenomenon characterized by an increase in average temperature of the Earth. The process has intensified over the last 150 years, with its main reason the industrial revolution, the expansion of car fleet and environmental degradation. Many scientists believe that global warming is caused by anthropogenic. The global warming phenomenon consists in: the earth receives radiation emitted by the sun and returns part of heat radiation to space, however the pollutants accumulated in the atmosphere make heat retained in earth, raising the temperature of the planet.
In another article written by Amanda Macmillan summarizes the effects global warming has on nature due to the cause of overload of carbon dioxide and forest deforestation. First, the text states earth’s rising “temperatures are fueling longer and hotter heat waves, more frequent droughts, heavier rainfall, and more powerful hurricanes”, which is not good news for us living here on planet earth. And it doesn’t stop there-there are also the effects of global warming creating even more “intense allergy seasons”, and the frequent sea level rise happening around the world.obviously these problems are not convenient for us we shouldn’t ignore this any more change must come. Other major examples found on a website called livescience.com it states “heavier flooding and precipitation” will come in result of global warming, and over the last 100 years the global temp has gone up .4 degrees celsius. These stats might not seem like a lot but they are having drastic effects on our
Climates are changing because of global warming, and this can be very dangerous also for animals and plants “in some ecosystems, maximum daily temperatures might climb beyond the tolerance if indigenous plants or animals” (NASA, p. 658 para. 10). These heat waves can cause these creatures and plants to possibly die. Equally important, the changes in weather and climates have also affected humans in a direct manner. This results in “tropical temperature zones expanding, the reach of infectious diseases, such as malaria, will change. More intense rains and hurricanes and rising sea levels will lead to more severe flooding and potential loss of property life” (NASA, p. 659, para. 11).
When large storms hit land with these increased sea levels it causes large storm surges that can destroy anything in its paths. If temperatures continue to rise other natural disasters could occur ("Global Warming Will Produce More Katrina-Like Storms"). A warmer wetter atmosphere could spawn more tropical storms and there will be floods in places that do not get much rainfall. Humans could prevent these problems if they were to cut down on the use of fossil fuels and use more renewable energy. Renewable energy consists of wind, solar, and lunar power.
An increase in the earth’s average temperature is called global warming. It is an adaptation that is believed to be permanently changing the earth's climate. Many scientists are trying to prove that how and why there is an increase in the earth’s temperature. Many greenhouse gases and other human activities are considered to be the foremost cause of global warming. It is really clear that we are not taking a good care of our nature, on which we are dependent.
Global warming is a big problem that we have to face nowadays. If you search Google for the word “global warming’, you will get over 70 million pages of results. The subject has certainly drawn a lot of attention. And now I will talk more about “what is global warming” , the cause and the effects it has on the earth and also some possible solutions for this problem.
Now another natural cause of global warming is the rising of the seas. The biggest reason for sea level rising is that global warming is causing the air to be warmer and that 's causing glaciers and ice-caps to melt. Sea level rise would affect about 11 out of the 15 biggest cities in the world. The reason this is happening because gases are being released into the atmosphere which is causing the temperatures to rise, which causes the seas to rise. Sea level rising means more money that we have to spend for people living on the coastlines because coastal populations are growing and people are crowding into coastal areas and that area could be underwater in a few years if sea levels keep rising how they have been.
And the temperature show that it will increase even more. Many disasters will come upon us. But first, the one that have been affect the most by climate change are nature, right now in Antarctica, ice melting cause a major problem. The polar bear, it in danger, and soon it will be extinct, because polar bear cannot swim, and the ice is melting, that mean the polar bear soon will don’t have any place to live, and it harder for them to find prey, and if they extinct, the whole eco system will collapse. Many other animal will die, or their will evolve fast enough to survive, that hurt the nature a lot.
Global warming has been a highly debated topic for quite a bit of time now. Is it or is it not happening? Global warming is an increase of temperature that causes related changes in climate and the environment. This has been seen in Antarctica especially. The change of temperature in Antarctica due to global warming has had many effects on wildlife and the environment already.
Global Warming causes and solutions The majority of scientists around the world have a fear of global warming and its effects on nature and humans around the world. Global warming is considered as one of the most threatened in our world today. This essay presents and explains the impact of global warming on earth and suggests to finding the best solutions can be done in order to minimizing those reason that affected on raising the temperatures to avoid this problem.
