Dear [insert a name], After reading this book, Fall down 7 times get up 8 teaching kids to succeed by Debbie Silver. I immediately thought about you as a 2nd grade elementary teacher. I remember our last conversation we talked about how it seems as if it's hard to get students to connect with their learning experience. Although i’ve only read the first few chapters in this book it was filled with tons of valuable information. The book did a comparison between the lack of self motivation in students in today's times compared to students back in the day. As a future educator i found it very noteworthy, how they explain the importances to empower students instead of entitling them. An example that was given to show the difference between entitling and empowering is. Entitling is when explaining to students how they are the top in the class so their scores should be higher than the next student. Whereas , empowering is explain to the students that they've overcame many different obstacles and mastered the most challenging math concepts.
