The Rome Empire was ruled by the emperor named Augustus. The political, social, and economical systems weren’t stabilized at that time, which eventually led to the downfall of the empire. The city of Rome was the home to millions of individuals, and population started to become a problem. The downfall last for about a couple hundred years. The downfall or decline became with Marcus Aurelius in A.D. 180. Rome had an advanced military, which made many men join to search for victory. Many men were mercenaries, which is a soldier that was hired to work in the army, and others just wasted to fight for their families and homes. Trade and the demand of foreign goods increased vastly. Because of the population, supplies started to run out. Economically, Rome had poor harvest and were lucky to get enough for a couple families. The barbarians and pirates were an issue for trade because without running into the problem with enemies, ships couldn’t get from city to city to import goods. The soldiers began fighting for money instead of Patriotism, so everything started to quickly spiral downhill. The society also suffered from lead poisoning, which was made for water lines and aqueducts that were run underground. Most of work done in the empire was carried out by slaves, which made technology fail to increase. There were also very little discoveries made in the city of Rome. Trouble came with emperors when about fifty or so kept taking over the throne trying to remake Rome. The population very rapidly declined and people moved out and packed to the nearest cities that began to become wealthier and wealthier. The Rome army was left unprotected and all the enemies could just come up and invade
