Ever just wonder what makes the food from McDonald’s, Burger King, Jack in the Box, or other successful fast food restaurants so good. Well in this proposal, you will know 3 things that the fast food industry is hiding. The author of the book, Chew On This, is Eric Schlosser. The book was published in 2006. It’s mostly about the things of fast food; what they hide what they do to become successful.

There was once a boy named Peter Peterson and he had a very rich father who worked in the IRS and then retired to NASA. Peter was rich and spoiled by the money that his father made. Years went by and the Peterson family was still rich.
There is a park located one street over from the home. There is adequate space for the child to play safely inside and outside the home. This novel explains the influence fast food has in the United States and even around the world. The main message Schlosser attempts to clarify throughout the book is that the fast food industry, since after World War II, has been contaminating various aspects of American life; whether it be physical health or business life, the fast food world has been a massive negative influence over time. Fast Food Nation begins with the introduction of Carl N. Karcher and the McDonalds brothers and how they were essentially the “founding fathers” of the fast food industry in southern California which became the basis for many other pioneers and companies to evolve around the United States.
Fast Food Nation, by Eric Schlosser, discusses the changes that the United States has gone through in recent years due to the development of fast food restaurants. Fast food places have led to Americans desiring more efficiency in their lives as well as changed many of the traditional values that Americans used to have, such as family and the role that youth play in the workplace. This book also agrees with what we have been learning in class about the fact that our industrialized food production has aided in our moving from dependency on others and family to being a highly individualized society. The efficient mechanisms by which fast food places run have drastically changed American values, economy, and health.
However, there are multiple objects in the classroom to protect the students. For instance, the door would be locked and is also very thick. There are at least 20 desks in each classroom to help protect the students in an emergency. “It is worth noting that insofar as school shootings are rare, political and school leaders must think safety plans through than overreact with knee-jerk responses(Russo,1).” Planning safety plans is better than having to overreact in emergency situations.

I think it’s a possibility that mass shootings here in America can affect the restaurant industry. Especially, since mass shootings have left many people to fear their love ones will be the next victims. As a result, more people are starting to prepare their foods at home rather than go out and eat at a restaurant. According to Washington CBSDC, “mass shootings can take away people’s ability to trust that they will be relatively safe as they go out into their world” (2015, para. 3). Therefore, the stress and fear of having to always look over your shoulder has basically cause many people to only feel safe in their own homes.
When many people are behind that thought it may be difficult to change their minds into having weapons inside a school. The schools can be prepared, but there is always someone that is going to outsmart their system or know the system then they would win. If plans were based off of the layout of schools it will be harder for people to outsmart the system (Cummings). Making new plans at schools will take way too long to complete and it will create a weakness in the schools. Even though making a new plan may take a long time it is the best option to prevent school
Now, wherever I go, I have to be careful and always have a trusted adult with me. You can never know when someone is going to do something crazy or where it’ll be. Once in awhile, my school has surprise lockdown drills. These practices prepare me in case someone comes onto my school campus and has a gun. Also, to prevent this even more, my school has a gate around it and if you want to come on the campus, you must be buzzed in by a school administrator.
