In the Pixar film Finding Nemo, written by Andrew Stanton and Lee Unkruch,fear is a huge and important theme for all of the characters but for this essay we will focus on Marlin, the protective father, and Nemo, the inquisitive son, fears. All individuals have fears but to survive they need to learn to adapt and face our fears This lesson is learned by both father and son in this children’s film.To start out with we will discuss about Marlin’s, the father, Fear. The first time where we see Nemo showing that he has a fear that he faces and eventually learns to beat is when Nemo is going through the Ring of Fire on top of Mt.Wannahockaloogie . In this scene ,from the childes film Finding Nemo, Nemo is being initiated into the Brotherhood of the Tank and Nemo task is to swim through the daunting Ring of Fire. This Task forces Nemo to face the fear of the unknown. This fear of the unknown is one of Nemo's few fear and Nemo is easily able beat this fear because he is young and can not see the potential therefor is able to do thing without thinking them through all the way like all boys do. And from beating Mt.Wannahockaloogie Nemo faces the unknown and makes it known.The next time we see young Nemo facing a fear that he has is when he clogs the filter to help on Gills next “genius” escape plans.This fear was formed in Nemo because the first time he tried to block the filter the pebble that he put in it slipped and Nemo was almost sucked into the filters spinning blades and turned into sushi. How Nemo is able to beat this fear is after Nemo hears from Nigel, the friendly pelican, than Marlin, Nemos Father, has traveled the ocean fighting sharks, beating jellyfish forest, and riding on the back of sea
