Feminism is no longer needed in the U.S. because both men and women have right to vote and the right to own property.Throughout the mid 1850s many states passed the Married Women's Act which gave women the right to own property. In 1919 the 19th Amendment was added to the U.S. Constitution, giving women the right to vote. To explain further, both men and women have the right to vote, allowing both men and women to share their political ideas and opinions. This also brings men and women closer to being equal. When the Married Women’s Act was passed it gave married woman the right to own property, bringing men and women even closer to being equal, and achieved one of feminisms main goals in America. The statistic that women are paid 77 cents for every dollar a man makes is false because it doesn’t factor in poiston, hours worked per week, hours worked in overtime, education, or experience. This has been proven multiple times by loads of trustworthy sources (I.E. Time, and Forbes).To explain, this shows that even if there was a wage gap it wouldn’t as large be what most feminists are claim the wage gap is. This also shows that feminism has achieved another one of its goals, which is equal pay. However, the wage is real and it does factor in poiston, hours worked per week, hours worked in overtime, education, and experience. The reasons there is a wage gap is because women and men don’t have equal opportunities to get higher jobs. Men and women do have equal opportunities to get higher paying jobs. There is no law that prevents women from being paid as much as men. There is no law that prevents women from getting higher paying jobs. However, there is a law that makes you pay men and women the same amount of money (Equal Pay Act of 1963).
