The Gender Wage Gap
If women can get paid less for the same work why don’t companies just hire all women. The study that was done by the Census Bureau to show a gender wage gap is simply a lie. The gender wage gap that is perpetuated by the media is not as big as and a problem that they say it is because a majority of it can be dismissed to the differences in the studies selected men's and women's career choices.
The gender wage study is taken over multiple jobs and take their yearly income and does not actually reflect women's and men's wages. The study takes their yearly earnings so it does not reflect an illegal wage gap. The census bureau took 821 jobs and and made an average of men and women's annual earnings and got 77 cents to the dollar

Women choose and occupy lower paying jobs and men dominate almost all highest paying jobs. One Study by Georgetown University showed its lowest paying jobs out of college and its female percentage of women in them, women outnumbered men in all but one job (Sommers). Clearly women are statistically earning less annually because they choosing these lower paying jobs. Then they did the same thing with the highest paying jobs out of college and men outnumber women in in all but one higher paying jobs (Sommers). So no we can see where they get the statistic of men earning more than women, many organizations and people believe that the gender wage gap can be dismissed by the choices men and women make. American Association of University Women says that wage gap shrinks to just 6.6 percent when factoring in the differences (Sommers). If there were going to be a biased source it would be this one so why would they say this because it's the truth. Then the U.S department of labor released a paper that says the gender wage gap may be almost entirely the result of individual choices made by women and men workers (Sommers). The department is saying here it has nothing to do with unequal pay it's the choices. But don't take it from instead. As we know women tend to be less flexible than men. People who are more flexible are paid more (Plumb). Claudia Goldin the Henry Lee Professor of Economics at Harvard University, director of the National Bureau of Economic Research’s Development of the American Economy program, also the former president of the American Economic Association says that Pharmacists is a field where women are now more flexible and it's practically closed the gender wage gap there. Claudia goldin a clear expert is saying that these women are now more flexible and there's practically no gap at all. Women need to be more flexible and ask for raises in their work environment. It's not that women are asking for more or less hours its specific hours (Plumb). All these women want the same hours, most likely when their kids go to and get off from school. So if multiple women want these hours the pay for them will go down. A lot of occupations have increased in female occupation overtime and the salaries in these jobs have not decreased (Plumb). The jobs pay have not decreased from rapid gains in flexibility it's actually quite the
