The fashion industry has impacted our world in numerous amounts of ways. From providing millions of jobs to polluting our earth, the fashion industry is looked at as the best and worst industry in this world. The documentary directed by Andrew Morgan, and produced by Michael Ross, takes audiences to see the underlying components of the fashion industry. The True Cost shows viewers the results of fast fashion and how it's not only hurting the planet but also endangering the workers. Prices are always rising, and everything is getting more expensive; as humans when we find ways to spend less money, we always chose that route. Many people will go to extreme measures to save money and fast fashion is just another way to save some money. People indulge in fast fashion because it creates an illusion of wealth. The film shows that through this illusion, humans are so blinded by feeling wealthy that they disregard the effort that it takes to provide that product. I for one, could have never been able to stand there and film all this madness, I would have sat in a corner and cried; so being able to do that needed someone with courage. My question is how do I know how many other companies are producing clothes in the same way as in fast fashion? For example, are high end companies participating in the same production? If so, why aren't we stopping it? We need to find a balance in producing clothes and making sure that the workers are safe and treated well, and our planet is also treated well. There has to be a balance to all this madness because these companies are making a lot of money, so where is all the money going?
