“Her Film Review” A movie with a very strange and new type of story that maybe someday will be a possibility that’s what the film “Her” is. Seemingly just a romantic drama this movie conveys with just a voice what many other films fall flat at showing, a genuine sense of affection for a character.Directed by Spike Jonze this films brings with it a wave of emotions. Sometime feelings of sympathy for main character other times you find yourself whether you should truly sympathize him. The films revolves around Theodore Twombly ( Joaquin Phoenix) a depressed somewhat middle aged man whose work consist of writing letters to people from other people. Still trying to recover from his recent separation from his ex-wife he finds himself constantly trying to keep his life going ahead staying up nights chatting with strangers to feel the affection of another person, which he finds himself longing for. While walking from work he sees an ad for a new operating system that claims to be capable of learning and adapting. When installing the OS he chooses to give it a woman's voice but is surprised to find out that it has given itself a name calling itself Samantha (Scarlett Johansson) . …show more content…

At first reluctant to tell anyone about it he eventually opens up to one of his longtime friends Amy after she tells him, she has become close to an OS her soon to be ex husband left behind. Suddenly Theodore notices Samantha has become less present in his everyday life. Soon finding out that she and another group of OS’s have decided to leave their humans and explore reasons for their existence.
