As mentioned in paragraph 2.1 there are many negatives effects caused by alcohol. These effects can somehow be compared with the negative effects of smoking. In 2002 the prohibition on marketing communications for the tobacco industry was introduced. As I said I think the alcohol industry should undergo the same.
As can be read in 2.2 there are many studies that prove that marketing is correlated with alcohol consumption. These are facts that are undeniable and we should do something with them. Although there are many constraints for these marketing communications the marketing agencies are very creative and still very positive vibes are created around alcohol consumption.

A virtuous person develops/knows a sense of right and wrong. But for example the study from Conly (2013) showed that even though people know sometimes what the right thing is to do considering a healthy lifestyle these choices are not always made. In that case, because public health is important, the people should be helped to make the right decisions as much as possible by the government (csrnyc, 2007).
4.2 Duty oriented approach
Deontological ethics derive from the idea that some things are just wrong and must not be done. The idea is that to meet the rule is more important than the outcome. Certain principles should govern individuals and/or firm’s behaviour. So, from this ethical perspective it would be accepted to ban firms from certain communications to protect the public (csrnyc, 2007).
4.3 Consequence oriented approach
Consequentialist ethics (including Utilitarianism) focuses on the outcomes of actions. When the outcome is good the actions are likely to be good regardless of the motivation of the individual. Governments should also be judged by their consequences. The actions are right if the outcome is right. So, in this case when the result is less negative causes by alcohol consumption when banning alcohol marketing communications this action is right. No matter if the government is by doing that commanding firms to act in a certain way (csrnyc,
