The book 102 Minutes is a story of the fight to survive. Set inside the twin towers, authors Jim Dwyer and Kevin Flynn tell the haunting stories of both victims and survivors of the terrorist attack known as 9/11. Describing the morning before the attack, along with the lives of the people in the twin towers, creates an emotion connection between audiences and the text. This emotional connection evokes emotions of pity for the people impacted by this tragic event. By the biographers using the rhetorical device of pathos, an empathetic relationship is formed between audiences and the individuals in the passage, which sparks feelings of anxiety to see if certain people survived the attack, which opens the minds of the audience to other information and opinions that the composers of the text may present throughout the text.

Today, and throughout much of American history, this system takes the form of political parties. Furthermore, despite the existence of other parties like the Green Party, Reform Party, and Socialist Party, the only two political parties genuinely elected within the United States are the Democrat Party and Republican Party. Even with just two parties within the election system, dynamic change, and rich history

Precious Knowledge presents the controversial issue of the integration of ethnic studies courses in schooling. Ethnic studies is the study of cultural, racial, ethnic, and gender differences in America. In this essay, I will argue Ethnic studies courses should belong in P-12 schooling, because the classes endorse ideals of America. In addition, people rely on the courses to learn critical thinking of the empowerment of identity. Although advocates for the abolishment of ethnic studies courses argue that the courses create a sense of contempt towards America through racism and are not remarkably significant, they do not fully comprehend the success from ethnic studies and that by taking away the classes, they only promote their fear of students disliking America.
How was the world interconnected in the early modern period, according to the introduction by Pomeranz & Topik? In what ways did the non-Western “peripheries” still have influence in their economic roles? The world was interconnected in the early modern period by trade. In his Farewell Address, George Washington warned Americans about the effects of political polarization, saying,“One of the expedients of party to acquire influence, within particular districts, is to misrepresent the opinions and aims of other districts.” Polarization is the division into two sharply contrasting groups or sets of opinions or beliefs. The political gap between Democrats and Republicans has been a growing problem but has seemed to get increasingly worse in recent years. Although the two-party system can help create balance within the government, political polarization is detrimental to American society because it causes tension between citizens and effects our daily lives. Interdisciplinary research involves integrating knowledge and methods from different disciplines, using a synthesis of approaches (Repko et al., 2017). Basically, in interdisciplinary research, incorporating perspectives from multiple disciplines allows people to construct a more comprehensive understanding of a problem being addressed (Repko et al., 2017). There are both advantages and disadvantages to interdisciplinary research. The main advantage is that interdisciplinary research both draws from and integrates the different backgrounds and perspectives of multiple disciplines and then combines them into a single functioning unit, which allows for a more comprehensive understanding of a problem (Repko et al., 2017). Interdisciplinary research fosters greater critical thinking, synthesizes multiple disciplines, and develops life-long learning skills (Jones, 2010).
