Being a peer resource and making an impact to first year and transfer students is an amazing process to be apart of. Giving students information about what Sacramento State is important to me. As a first year student, I had an overwhelming transition to college and had to find out several resources Sacramento State provides on my own. Being involved has allowed me to see the impact you can make on a student. Now being a Peer Health Educator I am being a resource for students and sharing valuable information that can benefit them. Now I want to challenge myself in a different environment and help students when it comes to advising, assisting students with schedule planning, and general education. Being an Orientation leader will allow me to work with other populations of the student body and challenge myself in different areas when it comes to the responsibilities being met.

It is important to optimize your time and be efficient when it comes to tasks being done. Being a college student we have several roles we balance: college student, work, volunteering, and internship. It is important to be detailed organized and balanced when it comes to daily tasks that need to be completed. Every semester I print out all my syllabus, write in my planner, color code them from which class is which of due dates of papers, exams, and assignments. From there I can see which weeks are hectic, not double book myself, and be balanced on what I can do for certain days. Time management involves a lot of different areas to be successful. Being detailed organized and being realistic what you can achieve is important. Being a Peer Health Educator we give presentations about limiting your stress and one topic we address heavily is time management. I utilize time management in my daily life to limit stress and to accomplish what I need to do as a college
