Captain Heart Analysis Captain Heart is a logical thinker that demands the scientific truth even if the answer he seeks is right in front of him. In the book Captain Heart has this want to find this mysterious figure that had just visited the planet hours before he landed. The mayor of the town goes on to tell us that he will miss the man by a smaller and smaller time for each world he goes to. But in the end he will never find him or see him. At the beginning of the story, page 65, the Captain really is confused about what is going on. While Martian is trying to explain to him what it was, page 65, he realizes that a God like figure had just appeared here. Instead of being happy about this fact he is furiously curious and has to find out where he is. Martian even tries to leave but the Captain thinks that he can’t defy his orders (page 69). Near the end of the story, page 76, the captain thinks that he can “catch up” to the man while the mayor says “let’s not keep him waiting.” This shows that they were hiding the man, or it was more of a mental thing that was inside them. His logical thinking makes others react to him
