No matter how much you tried to avoid them, almost everyone battles an ant infestation at one point or another. Its easy for them to get inside your home, since they are tiny and can fit in almost any crack within your home. Plus, they are attracted to the smells of food inside, and anything left out only makes the infestation worse. Here are a few remedies to get rid of ants. Borax & Powdered Sugar: Simply mix one part borax with 3 parts powdered sugar together in a small container. You’ll want to use tiny containers, such as a bottle cap, to place this out where they ants are known to go. The ants will come in contact with the mixture, eat some, and bring back some of the concoction to their nest. Borax will naturally kill ants over a short period of time, while the powdered sugar will draw them in, since its sweet. …show more content…

Mix well until dissolved, and soak up the mixture using cotton balls. Place the cotton balls inside of the bottle caps to set out. Just remember not to set anything within reach! Peppermint Oil : One scent ants cannot tolerate is peppermint oil. They will naturally try to find a new place to relocate if they come in contact with this. Its known that adding just a few drops of essential peppermint oil to cotton balls, and leaving them throughout your home will get rid of the ants within a matter of a week! Cinnamon : Ants physically cannot tolerate cinnamon. When they come in contact with cinnamon, it literally starts burning their legs, meaning they cant make it very far into your home, before they start to die.
