Over the years Football as been one of the well sports in the United States but also one of the biggest causes of concussion and head injuries in the US. Over the last years the sport has had a increase in head injuries from simple to major injuries. One of the smartest ideas they had was to changes the rules and penalties players for trying to do head hits. Based off the changes they did i feel that they did the right thing with the rules because it prevents players from using their head as a force. One Reason why i agree with the new system the NFL put in the rules because it prevent players from get head in the that much. With the new rules that were put in by the NFL, players can now get ejected from the game for head hit. The Owner of The NFL placed new rules to help prevent head injuries from occurring. I think that these changes help the Sport and protects the players in the long run. With this decision made by the owner of the NFL I feel that other sports can learn and change some of the rule if their sports involve head hitting. …show more content…

One of the most dangerous head injuries that football caused was CTE. CTE is Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy which is a degenerative brain disease. CTE is caused when there is a clump in your brain that begins to spread out and causes brain cell to died. One of the most recent cases of CTE is on Football Aaron Hernandez and what happened to him after he got the injury. After Aaron Passed away scans showed that he had a serious case of CTE. Dr. Ann McKee from Boston University of Medicine stated that Aaron had a stage 3 out 4 CTE. Some of other studies Dr. McKee made about CTE was that 177 of 204 former football player were diagnosed with CTE. With the new rules this helps prevent players from getting seriously
