Forensic Interview With Rande Points

The following is a summary of the forensic interview with Rande Points, not an exact transcript. The interview took place on March 15, 2018 at 12:53 PM, at Kids’ Space Child Advocacy Center in Muskogee, OK.
Megan Merrill was the forensic interviewer who interviewed Rande. I and other co-workers involved in the investigation, observed the forensic interview from an observation room. Megan began the interview by introducing herself to Rande. She asked Rande how old she is. She said, she is 17 years old and will be 18 in October. Megan asked what the date of her birthday is. Rande said October 5, 2000. Megan then explained the layout of the forensic interviewing room. In doing so, she introduces the cameras that record the room. Additionally,

She has applied for ICTC for nursing classes and has aspirations of becoming an O.T.A. Megan said you mentioned being in foster care. How old where you when you went into foster care. Rande said she was in 4th or 5th grade. Rande said when she was born her mom was on drugs and that was why she went into foster care. She lived with her grandma for a while. Rande said they have lived in the house where they live currently for 5 years. Everything was okay for the first year. Then when Robin moved out, everything got worse. She was 12 when Robin was living there and turned 13 years old the year she moved out. She said, referring to Walter and June, they were always hateful. However, it was more so after Robin moved out. Once Robin moved out a lot of the cooking and cleaning was dumped on Rande to do. Then it was Rande and Robbe doing all the cooking and cleaning once Robbe got a little bit older.
Rande said her brother sometimes has accidents, well sometimes, it is on purpose, but for the most part, he has accidents. Rande said he has accidents from the trauma he has been through. Rande said Walter has always been overly friendly and affectionate towards her. She said it always made her feel uncomfortable. Rande said her grandfather’s girlfriend’s son, Blaine Stevens, raped her when she was 8 years old. Since that happened, she has always been more guarded. She told her grandpa and he did not believe
