The Holy Bible contains many foreshadowing verses. An example of this is Jesus and Joseph. Jesus and Joseph were both firm through their responsibilities. They were both obligated to get through their distress, and made a way through their deception. The Holy Bible also has many verses that foreshadow how Joseph relates to Jesus. Joseph and Jesus were comparable in the choices they made. They faced many similar trials. Some of these trials include being bound, betrayed, and a savior.
Jesus and Joseph were both bound to make a way through their troubles. The definition of bound says, “A limitation or restriction on feeling or action.” This statement contributes to Jesus’ and Joseph’s hardships, and how they had to deal with them. (New International Version, Gen.39.30) states, “Joseph was bound”. Matthew 27:2 states, “Jesus was bound”. Joseph and Jesus were very similar in the Bible. There are many similar verses that contribute to both Jesus and Joseph. Joseph’s brothers were jealous of him, and didn’t believe what Joseph had to say. Jesus’ people were also jealous of him, and Jesus was put through misery, so He surrendered. …show more content…

Genesis 37:23 states, “So when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe.. they took him and threw him into the cistern. The cistern was empty; there was no water in it”. Matthew 27:28 states, “They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head”. Jesus and Joseph were treated miserably, while they were both innocent. They were both mentally and physically hurt. They were treated like slaves, and they faced many battles through their lives.
