J. Cole’s album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive is THE album. Everything about it, from the powerful message of finding inner peace and commitment to his intellectuality. During his journey of becoming an artist, Cole has been recognized by some of his previous records: Born Sinner, Cole World and Friday Night Lights. Cole stays true to himself by formulating songs with amazing tunes mixed with thought provoking wordplay. The lyricist voices his life/opinions more than ever before on 2014 Forest Hill Drive, a slight switch-up from his previous albums, displaying Cole’s versatility as an artist. Cole being able to remain himself and go multi-platinum without any features, instead of reaching the fans with unauthentic verses for capital gain or satisfaction adds to the reason why Cole is my absolute favorite artist. Think of 2014 Forest Hills Drive as a Life Book full of raw emotion, life lessons, and meaningful monologues. Ever since I first heard Friday Night Lights, I instantly became a J Cole fan. Being able to relate with him on multiple situations, deepen my love for Cole. J Cole grew up without a father around, I grew up without a father around. J Cole grew up in middle-class family, I grew up in a middle-class family. 2014 Forest Hills Drive did not only touch me to the core of my soul, it was also recognized, by the critiques with multiple songs hitting top ten on the billboard charts.
