Valley Forge- Dec. 19 1777-June 19 1778. Valley Forge was the a winter camp for the continental army. This winter was one of the toughest winters the army faced. They lacked enough food and supplies that they need most. Washington had the toughest job: keeping the army together.
Jeff was on a mission. His mission was to gather information on the evasive rouge colonel that went by the name of Bonge Stoof. Bonge Stoof was a name that struck fear into many of the citizens of the thirteen colonies. He was known for being brutal with his prisoners, ravaging houses of innocent people, and killing his own country men. He and his squad of men were getting more and bolder in their attempts of taking down the thirteen colonies and had recently blown up a shipment of gunpowder.
The Canadian Corps, a 100,000 strong fighting formation, was ordered to the Passchendaele front, east of Ypres, in mid-October 1917. Horrible Conditions Launched on 31 July 1917, the British offensive in Flanders had aimed to drive the Germans away from the essential Channel Ports and to eliminate U-Boat bases on the coast. But unceasing rain and shellfire reduced the battlefield to a vast bog of bodies, water-filled shell craters, and mud in which the attack ground to a halt. After months of fighting, Passchendaele ridge was still stubbornly held by German troops. Sir Douglas Haig, the commander-in-chief of the British Expeditionary Force, ordered the Canadians to deliver victory.
"Colonel" Ed Fletcher (December 31, 1872 – October 15, 1955) was a real estate developer and U.S. Republican and Democratic politician from San Diego, California. Fletcher was born 1872 in Littleton, Massachusetts, son of Charles Kimball Fletcher. His family moved to Worcester and Boston, where he attended school.
James Oglethorpe, the founder of Georgia, was the one to lead English settlers to the colony. The Spanish were there originally, but 1730, when James led the settlers, the Spanish were mainly gone. James led the settlement as a refuge for the poor and debtors. He also made a multifaceted plan for settling and government called Oglethorpe Plan, which will be touched upon further in the governments slide.

James Edward Oglethorpe, and an English general, along with 21 other men, created a charter to settle a new colony which they named Georgia in honor of King George II. The grant established land between the Savannah and Altamaha rivers as well as the waters of these rivers.
The Battle/Siege of Vicksburg The Battle of Vicksburg was one of the most crucial points in the Civil War. It helped Eradicate the Rebels/Confederacy once and for all. The Civil War was fought for over 4 years and it lasted from 1861-1865. It was one of the most horrific wars the world has ever known and witnessed.

The law stated that the Confederates should commit “full and complete retaliation” against such people. Fort Pillow, on the Mississippi River north of Memphis, was built by confederate Brigadier General Gideon Johnson Pillow in early 1862 and was used by both sides during the war. With the fall of New Madrid and Island Number 10 to Union forces, Confederate troops evacuated Fort Pillow on June 4, in order to avoid being cut off from the rest of the Confederate army. Union forces occupied Fort Pillow on June 6 and used it to protect the river approach to Memphis.
Balboa Park is one of the most significant symbol of the city of San Diego. As year as 1867,a 960 acres of pueblo lands which located in area which now named as downtown San diego was sold to an enterprising, Alonzo E. Horton. And soon, On February 15, 1868, a Trustee of the City of San Diego, Emphraim W. Morse purposed to use 160 acre pueblo lots to preserve a land park for the local people and the future generation to enjoy. With the help of the other two board members, Thomas Bush and J.S. Manasse, this far-sighted idea and purposal was finally accepted and agreed by Horton.
To review a historical site, I visited the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site located at 1001 E 5th Street Vancouver, Washington. The historical site was established by John McLoughlin in 1824 by the Hudson’s Bay Company. The setting was enormous, with many various old buildings including large acres of land. I found it very intriguing to explore the history of my hometown and what exactly occurred at this historical place that made it famous. First of all, the location wouldn’t have existed without the exploration by Lewis and Clark.

As a captain on the staff of General Winfield Scott, the battles including the Siege of Veracruz, Cerro Gordo and Contreras became the most crucial. Off of an island of Japan, many landing crafts wash ashore dropping the doors as seventy thousand United States Marines storm the beaches while being shot at by eighteen thousand Japanese soldiers. This is the battle of Iwo Jima which occurred on Feb 19, 1945 and ended on Mar 26, 1945. The island of Iwo Jima is like a paradise island with clear water and golden-white beaches, pretty trees of different kinds and of course a tall mountain called Mount Suribachi. Back in 1945, the trees were blown to ashes and the beaches were red along with the water as the soldiers tried to take cover.
Rochester Castle Research Rough Draft Known as one of the earliest castle of England. The Rochester castle was a castle built for Roman castrum, or military camp. In 1066, shortly after the Norman Invasion, a castle was built on a hill, the castle was used to overlook the River Medway which was an important route in and out of southern England. The first castle at Rochester was constructed by the Normans following their victory in the battle of Hastings in 1066. This early castle was made of wood and was controlled by the Bishop Odo, who was William the Conqueror’s half-brother.
