Engineering An individual named James A Michener once said “Scientists dream about doing great things. Engineers do them” I don't entirely agree with this quote, but in a way, it is oddly true. The four main types of engineering are mechanical, civil, electrical, and chemical. Civil engineering deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment. Civil engineers supervise, operate, and maintain construction projects and systems in the public and private sector, including roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges, and systems for water supply and sewage treatment. A mechanical engineer is someone who designs researches, builds and tests mechanical and thermal sensors and devices. …show more content…

In other words, to make it comprehensible, chemical engineers examine plants, they examine the soil, not only do they do this, but it one thing they do. A chemical and mechanical engineer must earn a bachelor's degree at most, if you'd want a higher degree like a master's degree or a doctoral degree you'd have to attend college for an additional amount of years. A master’s degree would take an extra two to four years and a Ph.D. would take another four to seven years. Electrical engineering would also require a bachelor's degree which will usually take four or five years to finalize, and students will acquire knowledge of basic engineering moreover mathematics and science. As well as mechanical, chemical and electrical engineering, civil engineering also takes a bachelor's degree. The academic program must be approved by ABET. ABET stands for Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. ABET is a non-governmental organization that appoints post-secondary education programs in "applied science, computing, engineering, and engineering …show more content…

A civil engineer annually earns about $82,220, hourly $39.53, this is median pay. A mechanical engineer earns $83,590 annually, and hourly earns around $40.19, also median pay. An electrical engineer receives about $93,230 annually, hourly receives $45.78 as well as civil and mechanical engineering this is also median pay. A chemical engineer annually acquires $97,360, hourly earns about $46.81. Any job or career as an engineer will always be a well paid job. Although this may not be erroneous nor is it precise, it is the estimated amount of what these engineers
