Not all things that seem bad are bad, many things can have two effects. While something may seem bad to someone it might seem good to someone else. It all depends on your point of view. Just because your background may not be good does not mean you have to be bad. No matter what your background may be you can still be good, just because your background is bad does not mean you have to be bad, it’s your choice.This story is about Francis Drake a pirate, a knight of the British realm, a hero, and how good came from bad.

Early life
Francis Drake was born around 1544 in Tavistock, Devon, England. He was the oldest of Edmund Drake a protestant farmer, In 1594 because of religious persecution the family fled into Kent. After which Edmund received …show more content…

After crossing the Atlantic two of the six ships were too damaged to continue and Drake had to scrap them. After which they thought it would be smooth sailing, but alas there was conflict between Drake and the other two men placed in command. Drake had one of them, Thomas Doughty, tried and beheaded for allegedly plotting mutiny. Soon after the crew found that the Mary had rotting timbers and was burned. Once they tried to enter the Straits out of the three ships only the flagship, Pelican made it to the Pacific, the Marigold disappeared and the Elizabeth with John Wynter, the other commander, returned to England where he was tried and sentenced to jail for mutiny. After making it through the straights Drake sailed up the coast raiding the spanish ports. In 1580 he made it back to Plymouth after sailing across the pacific and around africa. He became the second person to circumnavigate the globe, and the first Englishman to do so. On April 4, 1582 Queen Elizabeth knighted Drake aboard Golden Hind, Drake’s renamed …show more content…
