Franklin D. Roosevelt in his inaugural speech addresses the task of waging war and mobilizing on the Great Depression and poverty together. He says several things must be done in order to fight against it. President Roosevelt's first order of business to achieve this task was for the federal government to take charge in fixing the Great Depression. He suggested that the government take on a regulation role with the tools of national planning, and supervision of all forms of transportation and communication. Another tactic President Roosevelt suggested was to create more jobs by the Government directly hiring new workers to accomplish greatly needed projects to stimulate and reorganize the use of resources.
