resident Roosevelt is one of the most well known presidents. He was known for helping bring back America from the problems it faced in the industrial revolution. He really showed the big part of the progressive era. He tried to promote social welfare, expand democracy, and create economic reform. This help make all the solutions to the problems that were the issue in the U.S. After the industrial revolution the U.S. had multiple problems.

Franklin Roosevelt was a very influential and important president in American history who had an immense impact on the American economy and social policy during the 1930’s and 40’s and throughout the future of America, he also shared some ideas with the author John Steinbeck. He idolized Theodore Roosevelt, and took great inspiration from him. He has served as president for longer than any other president in history, serving for three terms instead of the usual two that is generally accepted as the maximum amount of time that a president can serve. He drove America out of the great depression and through the second world war.
Franklin Roosevelt had a positive effect on people and gave many people hope. He told Americans that there was nothing to fear except for fear its self. That speech gave many Americans hope, the Americans believed that Franklin Roosevelt would help them get out of the Depression. FDR also introduced many new ideas such as the New deal and the Programs in the New Deal. He also held fireside chats that explained the New Deal and Defend the New Deal.
During Roosevelt’s presidency, he had won a Nobel Prize for peace in 1906 for mediating an end to the Russo-Japanese War. Roosevelt also occupied and set up a military in Cuba, when he also was putting pressure on Canada in the boundary dispute for Alaska. What Roosevelt did during his presidency shows that any man or any woman can do anything they want, it’s showing that he was doing things that were helping the country as a whole. While he is most popularly known as the president who successfully led America through the Great Depression, creating many beneficial programs known as the New Deal, all doing this while being terribly stricken with polio and spending part of his presidential term in a wheelchair until his eventual death because of the same disease. Out of many of his great acts, his most notable aspect was his ability to unite America, a country often divided of opinion, against a common ally to better the country. His speech, The Pearl Harbor Address to the Nation, was given during a very difficult time of American history. Despite the despicable tragedy that had just struck Hawaii exactly one day before the given speech, Roosevelt had the ability to remind the American people of their bravery and perseverance. His ultimate goal was to convince Congress to declare war on Japan, which they did exactly that literally minutes after Roosevelt gave his famous speech.
The Great Depression was a time during 1929 to 1939, It was the longest lasting economic disaster. The two presidents in term during this crisis, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Herbert Hoover, approached this problem in different ways. Hoover’s idea on this was to have private citizens help each others, while Roosevelt believed the government should take care of its people with social programs. Unfortunately, by implementing programs to aid African Americans, without initial progress to the overall conditions of white americans, FDR would have lost the south’s support.
