Not only was there a reformation of the country, but also of the society. Originally, France was a monarchy but the citizens of France weren’t satisfied with the structure of their government and their country which is why the French Revolution reformed the country to make it become the best possible. Dramatic changes, such as the creation of the National Assembly and the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, benefited major portions of French society but unfortunately the revolution ended with the Reign of Terror, Committee of Public Safety and another monarch, Napoleon. …show more content…
The French citizens were relieved when the document was published because the paper explained and talked about all the rights that all men have and how every single man is equal to each other. This document absolutely brought equality within the three estates and it let the citizens of France live a better and fairer life. For example, the citizens were not killed just because the king told his men to kill them, now they were allowed to have a fair trial and the judges would actually listen to what the guilty had to say. In the beginning of the French Revolution, there was so much discrimination and division between the estates but this declaration cleared up the problems and brought equality to the people. The citizens actually had a fair and normal life and they even had the chance of surviving. The bias between the third estate and the first and second estates were cleared up due to the help of the National Assembly creating the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen. The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen was a great success as it brought equality and justice to the citizens. They were able to live a fairer life with less worry and concern about the king’s actions and being mistreated by the clergy and
