Preparation for the SAT are often said to be the best way to get a high score, but it consists of a student studying on their own and paying four- hundred dollars an hour for tutoring that starts in the seventh grade (Rimer 1). Some parents do not have the money to get a decent tutor for their children. Teenagers who have the money to afford a tutor have better chance of getting a higher score than teenagers who are less fortunate. I have always enjoyed teaching people and helping them learn so that they can succeed in school. I got involved with tutoring through National Honor Society and the A+ Scholarship Program. With National Honor Society there is many service opportunities that I am able to be involved in and I do as many as possible, but tutoring homebound has always been what I've prefered to do. This is very important to me because many of these students aren't in class to learn directly from a teacher so things can become confusing fairly quickly and I like to be there to help as much as I am able to. Even at times when it is something that I am not proficient in it becomes a learning experience for me as well as the student I am tutoring.

But that confidence soon began to subside. In elementary school, we would have an annual test that determined whether a student can be placed in an advance or tutorial reading class, and every year I would be placed into the advance reading courses, so when it came time to take the test, I knew there wasn’t anything for me to worry about. And even though my score was one of the highest in the class, I still ended up in a reading tutorial class. I was a little taken aback by it, but it didn’t stop me from my love of reading and writing and plus I could switch out of those classes is I showed improvement. So I did my best to try and show that I didn’t need the extra help like some others did, but all my hard work went in vain

However, I now have a new perception and appreciation for professors and teaching assistants. It takes a great extent of work and time to put together a large lecture style course. Some of my teaching assistant duties included taking attendances and grading quizzes, test, or papers. I did not realize how much time it went into grading quizzes, test, and papers. Since the tests were composed of a multiple-choice question component in addition to a short essay, I was able to reinforce my past knowledge of concepts and course material when deciding if the essay answers were accurate.
If I ask questions to the teacher, their role should be to explain it well to what I have a questions on. Also to check on me every once and awhile to make sure I am doing the right thing. After reading through this again, I hope to learn all of the things I have problems with. I want to become the best writer I can
