Many people have different opinions of who was at fault in the story of Romeo and Juliet. Some might say Romeo or Juliet for not telling their parents and other might say it was the nurse’s fault. I believe it was man of God, Friar Laurence. You’d think a man of God would never be honest and never hide things behind people’s backs, but this one did. Friar Laurence was no man of God. Friar Laurence is the one to blame because he kept the wedding a secret, gave an important letter to somebody else who didn’t know the importance, and fled the scene when Juliet woke up. The first mistake Friar Laurence made was to keep the whole wedding a secret. This was really weird since he though getting the two doomed lovers married was going to end the feud between their families. He could have just told the parents of Romeo and Juliet after the marriage. Since he postponed the feud, Tybalt was still angry as ever and got into that fight with Mercutio and Romeo. That quarrel caused two deaths and all because of Friar Laurence not ending the feud. This then got Romeo exiled which put him, Juliet, and Friar Laurence into a bigger mess. First of all, Friar Laurence didn’t even explain how important the letter was until Friar John returns. Something like faking a death should have been dealt with personally. He could have at least explained to the other Friar how important it was and what it contained. That delay in the delivery letter let Balthasar get to Romeo first. That then made Romeo go to see Juliet and kills himself. Friar Laurence could have easily avoided this one by delivering the letter personally or not have given Juliet the
