Friendship plays an important role in everyone’s life. But how sure can one be that their friend will be able to overlook their differences and maintain a special bond? Today this paper will show how differences can lead to cracks in friendships, specially when those differences take the form of superiority in some sense. If one is superior to the other, he/she can use that to make the other feel more secure. However, what if that is not done? What if the superiority takes the form of a curse instead of a blessing to the bond?

He was not ready to take a few hits and protect Hassan who had helped him multiple times in the past. Even after the incident, Amir tries to avoid contact with Hassan as he will be reminded of how much of a coward he was. He will be reminded of how he could not help Hassan the one time he needed help even after the multiple Hassan had helped him in his times of need. Aude is a black woman who was subjected to racist jokes all throughout her life. From the time her friend’s cousin made fun of her traits to the time when someone screamed ‘Ku Klux Klan’ every time she took a step. She never bothered to ask any of her friends to stop as she thought it would make her look weak. However this is the reason she eventually lost so many of her friends.
