So, according to the book, sociologists who use the functionalists perspective concentrate on studying how media and technology influence how society functions. The book states that one must be aware of what media and technology do to a society. For example, chapter eight gives readers specific examples of this. Technology and media enable us to find information on the internet. When it comes to gaming, players can search up cheat codes if they are having trouble leveling up. If they have access to the internet, millions of responses will come up, and just like that they have the answer to the problem. Not only will gamers find information online regarding things about the game, but they can also learn how other players have finished the game by being able to communicate with them. Technology also provides a means for individuals to entertain themselves with new inventions.
